Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) is the use of video cameras to transmit signal to a specific, limited set of monitors. CCTV is often used for surveillance in areas which need monitoring, such as banks, casinos, airports, military installations and convenience stores. In industrial plants, CCTV equipment may be used to observe parts of a process that are remote from a control room, or where the environment is not secure for personnel with a continues recorded footages digitally on hard disk for months and it is reachable for play back with precise data for searching for an incident. CCTV systems may operate continuously or only as required to monitor a particular event. The major components of the CCTV system are: Cameras (fixed High resolution, or Day/Night CCD and Dome cameras, Pan-Tilt-Zoom or PTZ cameras), Digital Video Recorders and Monitors. |
